Sarm Kim

Sarm Kim was born in Korea, started playing the violin at the age of the four, began studies with the famed pedagogue Herbert Greenberg and later received her Master's degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and

Doctor of musical arts Degree from University of Maryland.

In her native country, Miss Kim was the recipient of many awards including grand prize and gold medal from Sun Hwa chamber competition, and Sun Hwa concerto competition. She was also winner of the Horno Ulrich competition and artists international competition in New York. She was invited for winner’s concerts at Jordan Hall, at William’s Hall in Boston, Weill recital Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York.

As a soloist with orchestra, she performed with Hradec Kralove Philharmonic Orchestra, North Czech philharmonic Orchestra, Sofia Festival Orchestra, Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra, Euro Sinfonietta Vienna, Kroatia Chamber Orchestra, Peabody Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Napoli Chamber Orchestra, and so on.

She joined to cellist Mischa Maisky and pianist Ratmir Martinovic to play Beethoven Triple concerto for violin, cello, piano in Kotor International Music Festival in Montenegro with National Philharmonic Orchestra.

Her first CD was recorded Bruch and Mozart double concerto for violin and viola ( Violinist Mate Szucs, solo viola of Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra) with Budapest Symphony Orchestra mav in Budapest Radio Recording Studio, which was released by Sony Classics.
