Sebastian Kolarz-Löschberger

The Austrian horn player Sebastian Kolarz-Löschberger was born in 1990. At the age of seven he received his first horn lessons from his father Johannes Löschberger at the music school in Hartberg. In 2005 he became a student of Wilhelm Kalcher at the Johann-Josef Fux Conservatory in Graz.
As a teenager he was awarded first prize at the national Prima la Musica competition onn multiple occasions.
At the age of 17 he began his performance studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) in the class of Thomas Jöbstl, which he graduated in 2015 with distinction. 
Since 2012 Sebastian Kolarz-Löschberger has been the principal horn player of the Tonkünstler Symphony Orchestra (Austria). Furthermore, he works regularly with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and as a substitute in orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony Orchestras. In that capacity, he has performed under renowned conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Muti, Mariss Jansons, Andris Nelsons, Pierre Boulez, Franz Welser-Möst, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, and many more. 
In addition to his work as a principal horn player, he works as a chamber musician in various ensembles, such as the Wiener Klangkommune and the Ensemble Soundartists, with whom he gave many concerts at the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
Sebastian Kolarz-Löschberger has also been a teacher at MDW Vienna since autumn 2016.
