Igor Petrushevski

Prof. Petrushevski has been teaching in many of the worlds most prestigious institutions over the last 30 years. Established as one of the most successful violin professors in Europe. His students have performed as soloist with M. Vengerov, V. Jurowski, C. Jarvi, K. Penderecki, S. Mintz, M. Maisky, G. Guerrero and with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, Simon Bolivar, the Hamburg Philharmonic, the Vilnius State Philharmonic, the Transylvania State Philharmonic, the George Enescu Philharmonic, the Slovak Radio, the MDR Sinfonieorchester, the Zurich Symphony Orchestra, the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony State Orchestra of Armenia and many others.

Prof. Igor Petrushevski’s students have won  international violin competitions including P.I. Tchaikovsky, T. Varga, Long-Thibaud, N. Paganini, J. Joachim, Sion, B. Britten, Canetti, G. Enescu, H. Wieniawski, Valsesia,  A. Khachaturian and many others.

Over the last 25 years Prof. Petrushevski has given masterclasses and played in the major halls of North and South America, South Korea (Korean National University), Japan, China (Beijing and Shanghai Conservatory), and Europe including UK (Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music), Spain (Reina Sophia), Italy, Austria, France, all of the Former Yugoslavia and Russia (the Moscow Conservatory).

Some of his students are leading important orchestras in the USA, the UK and Russia, and are playing in the orchestras such as the Wiener Philharmoniker, Covent Garden Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, ORF etc. Some of Prof. Petrushevski’s students have prominent solo international careers and are holding teaching posts in  universities throughout the world.

Prof. Petrushevski is regularly working in some of the most important festivals such as the Salzburg Summer Academy, The Santander Festival, The George Enescu Festival, The Zell am See Festival, The Northern Lights Festival, The Allegro Vivo Festival and Vienna Classic Strings International Competition and Festival and most recently Wiener Musikseminar.

Igor Petrushevski is professor at the Richard Wagner Konservatorium in Vienna and honorary professor at the Ipolito Ivanovo and Yerevan State Conservatory. He started his teaching career at the Trinity College of Music after which Prof. Petrushevski worked for 15 years at the Royal Academy of Music in London and Cetinje Music Academy. Documentary film about him was broadcast in more then 20 European countries.

Prof. Petrushevski has been jury member of the international competitions including the George Enescu, the Aram Khachaturian, the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, Rodolfo Lipizer, Vienna Classic Strings, the Osaka competitions and many others.

In 2023 he finished tour of China’s most important conservatories, universities giving masterclasses in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Shenyang, Wuhan conservatory etc.

For many years Prof. Petrushevski played important instrument by A. Stradivari 1699 (Kustendyke) and is now playing 1758 J.B. Guadagnini.
