Sanghee Sania Cheong

Sanghee Sania Cheong started to play the violin at the age of 4 and demonstrated her remarkable talent and musicality at a young age. At the age of 10, Ms. Cheong made her debut with the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. She won numerous prizes at many international competitions such as 1st prize at Osaka International Music Competition. In 2007 she moved to Vienna and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and afterwards at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She performed as a soloist with famous Korean and European orchestras such as KBS Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Orchestra, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Nürnberger Symphony Orchestra. Her first CD ‘Beethoven & Mendelssohn’ by Sony Classical was a huge success. Since 2016, she is teaching at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
