Studied at the University of Arts Berlin and Indiana University (Bloomington). Prizewinner a. o. at the Viotti, Busoni, Kapell Competitions. Since then concertized throughout the US, Europe, and in Asia. The cycle performance of all piano sonatas & piano chamber music by L. v. Beethoven at Kumho Art Hall in Seoul. Artist-in-residence at Tong-Yeong Festival. Piano Professor at Seoul National University since 1999. Master Classes in England, Germany, Italy, Czech, Korea, US.

Foto Maria IvanovaThe concert pianist Maria Ivanova was born in Moscow. She studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory there before continuing her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Lübeck University of Music. Her teachers included Sergej Dorenskij, Evelinde Trenkner and Hans Leygraf.
During this time she won prizes in international competitions: "For young pianists" in Ettlingen, Artur-Schnabel competition in Berlin and the Chopin competition in Göttingen.
As a soloist and piano duo partner, she played at major music festivals and performs regularly with orchestras. She made the radio recordings on NDR, RBB, Radio Bremen and CD productions with Russian and romantic music on the label cpo and Hänssler Classics. In the 2019/2020 concert season, she will again be a guest at the Czech Philharmonic Prague, Gasteig Munich, Musikverein Vienna and Philarmonie Moscow.
Her repertoire encompasses all styles from Baroque to Modern, with a special focus on rarely played works.
Maria Ivanova has been a piano lecturer for several years. She gained teaching experience at the Moscow Tchaikowsky Conservatory and was a member of the jury at the international piano competitions several times.
