Simina Ivan

Born in Timisoara -Romania in an artistic family (her mother has been Soprano at the Timisoara Opera House). Studied in the Bucarest Music Academy. Took lessons with KS Ileana Cotrubas and KS Margarita Lilowa. Has won prices by International Contests in Vienna (Belvedere Contest), Paris, Toulouse, Nantes, Coburg, Bucarest (George Enescu Contest). She began her career in the National Operetta Theater in Bucarest, followed by the National Opera in Bucarest. Since 1994 she is a member of the Soloists ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, singing roles as Rosina, Pamina, Musetta, Konstanze, Antonia, Marguerite, Ophelie, Gretel and many others. Has been invited in opera houses in Hamburg, Zürich, Toulon, Covent Garden London, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Salzburger Festspiele, München, Bucarest. She is holding a Masterclass in Oravita - Romania since 2007.
